Apex Picks up 1st in American Muscle & The Chairman Award!
This past weekend we attended the Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance in Pinehurst, NC. And elegant it was! Even with a cloudy couple of days, the show still gave off an air of sophistication and class, with cars in attendance spanning the brass era all the way up to a modern Porsche display. Many of these rare cars are limited production, with some values exceeding the 1 million mark.
American Muscle was still warmly welcomed on a field stocked heavily with overseas manufacturers.
We walked away with 1st in our American Muscle Car class and the overall Chairman’s Award! Congratulations to all winners and attendees for making this a beautiful event!

New Project Pick-up!

Lookin’ Good @ MCACN in Chicago
This year at MCACN there was a very special display inspired by the Nascar Aero wars, these ultra streamlined cars took factory backed racing to another level. Dodge started with the aero-back/flush grill Charger 500 and then went a step beyond with the wild winged Daytona and then the Superbird, while Ford jumped right in with the flush grill/extended nose Talledega’s and the Mercury Cyclone Spoilers. It is a treat to see just one of these Aero Warriors, but for 2012, you will be able to see more than 40, possibly the largest gathering ever assembled under one roof!
We were very happy to have the Superbird on display at this years MCACN. Out of the more than 40 Aero cars, our Bird was one of only two Hemi ‘Birds — and the other one we restored about 6 years ago!
This show is turning into an event with a great selection of cars and seems to have a following of great supporters. A special thanks to Bob Ashton for the invitation into the Aero Warriors display.
We were also able to catch up with some projects from our past that were in invitational displays too!
What a Reflection!
Not that I like my picture taken, but the reflection on this Bird is so darn pretty I had to post it!
Final Sand & Buff!
This is the final sand & buff for this ‘Bird. We couldn’t be more excited to get her all done and show her at MCACN this year!
On Display
Our 1970 Hemi Superbird will be on display in the Aero Warriors Invitational Display at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals (MCACN) in Chicago (Nov 17-18). This will be the very first time this Superbird has been on display for the public so we are very excited!
Pretty Purple in Columbus!
Picked up the 70 Hemi Cuda we did a few years ago to stretch it’s legs at a car show – the GoodGuys PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. Was nice to see it out again.
The Cuda was selected as the “Mopar Muscle Pick” of the event.
I don’t know if it was the heat or what, but this is the first show where we heard multiple times that the Cuda looked good enough to eat – that it looked like candy. We definitely agree, this Cuda’s paint and body work DOES make your mouth water…

#1 Reason to Choose a Quality Restoration shop!
1971 Hemi Cuda fender… or not.
This is the number one reason to choose a quality restoration shop. It might cost a little more, but at least you get what you’re paying for.
The value in this one fender decreased by about $1,100 in just the time it took to strip it down.
Notice how the 71 cuda fender gilles are hacked into the fender, instead of them being stamped there from the factory.
See these two pictures of a real 1971 Hemi Cuda fender for comparison.
